Momme measures silk fabric weight and density. A 22-momme fabric feels more substantial than many lighter silk weights, but momme is only one part of quality. We also consider drape, stitching, finishing, and suitability for the intended product.

Silk satin and clear labeling

Satin describes a weave, not a fiber. Satin can be made from silk or other materials. Review the material information on each product page to distinguish silk from a merely silky feel. Some listings note that exact fiber percentages are not yet confirmed.
